“Note senza tempo” dal 2019 is a music festival that aims to spread ancient music in the city of Sassari, Sardinia. Founded with the collaboration of regional educational institutions and international festivals, aims to promote both local and international artists. The first edition, held in 2019, offered seven free concerts in historic churches in the city and a harpsichord masterclass. The event involved 80 artists and attracted further 1500 people. The festival stood out for its attention to eco-sustainability, using QR codes for programs instead of printing paper materials. Furthermore, provided educational opportunities, such as scholarships for music students and young people who collaborate with the organization. Social media promotion contributed to the success of the festival, with thousands of members from groups specializing in ancient music. Since then further 200 they were the artists and ensembles who took turns on our stages in Sassari but also in the extraordinary neighboring municipalities rich in history.
Programs for 2026.
It is with great joy that we welcome you at the eighth edition of the Note Senza Tempo International Festival, an important milestone that testifies to the passion and commitment of an entire year of work.
The preparation of a festival like ours follows two parallel tracks: one visible to everyone in the concerts that enliven the city and the area, the other invisible one made up of long meetings, phone calls, contacts e, sometimes, the difficulty of balancing accounts and resources. It is painstaking and continuous work, conducted with dedication by our team of young people, which allows us to guarantee an artistic project now firmly rooted in the territory.
Note Senza Tempo continues to enhance young musicians, offering them concrete spaces and opportunities. This year too, the collaboration with the Sassari Youth Early Music Festival (SYEMF) and the Galan Academy, founded by the Dolci Accenti Association, will allow us to host two concerts by talented young artists. L’Accademia Galan, which this year has expanded its training offer to Caltanissetta, welcomes in total 50 young people on a path of growth and training in ancient music, thus realizing a dream that we have cultivated for years: educate new generations to the beauty of the Italian and European musical heritage.
There are many new features in this eighth edition, but also a strong sense of continuity. Our membership in the European network of early music festivals REMA, which accredits further 250 festivals across Europe, confirms the quality of our programs and places Note Senza Tempo among the main European festivals, giving great visibility to Sassari and Sardinia. The relocation of concerts to neighboring municipalities also continues, successfully launched last year, and their programming throughout the calendar year, allowing the festival to become a real widespread cultural laboratory.
Among the ensembles that will take part in this edition, we are pleased to welcome companies of great international and national importance: the Academy of the Music Festival of Caimari, the Benedetto Marcello Ensemble, Amoris Laetitia from l'Ensemble Baroque Lumina, each of which will bring the public a refined and engaging repertoire.
Next to the concerts, the eighth edition confirms masterclasses, seminars and study days open to citizens, thanks to the collaboration with the Galan Academy. The festival thus continues to enhance cultural heritage, promote sustainable tourism development and contribute to the economic and cultural growth of the territories, including also those smaller municipalities that often remain outside the traditional tourist routes.
We also want to thank everyone who chose to donate on 5×1000: a gesture that costs nothing but which allows our association to carry out part of the projects dedicated to young people, like Once upon a time there was music and the training activities of the Galan Academy.
Now all that remains is to let the emotions of the music pass through you, suspend daily worries and return home with a regenerated spirit.
And now as for seven years... we are waiting for you for the eighth edition!
